About the Designer
Married to Warren E. Tydings, Jr., Esquire
Two Children: Alexandra and Warren, III
Dana Tydings’ interiors are distinguished by her ability to seamlessly integrate design and function. Her projects feature an environment that combines a refined silhouette, luxurious color and innovative materials.
As a designer, Dana Tydings’ primary consideration for her clients is functionality. She has been quoted saying, “the most magnificent interiors are wasted on a non-functional design.” Light sources and the architecture then guide her in the selection of the color palette and material placement. She blends both traditional and contemporary elements to create rooms that evoke an elegant classicism.
Ms Tydings has designed an extensive number of unique residential, corporate and hospitality interiors. Since it’s inception in 1996, Tydings Design, Inc. has rapidly grown and currently provides design services to clients in the Metropolitan Washington, D. C. area and throughout the country. The firm has also worked on historical projects both individually and collaboratively with historical conservators and restoration firms.
Dana Tydings’ versatile projects have been published in numerous design publications and print media including, Better Homes and Gardens Window and Wall, Spaces Magazine, The Washington Post, The Atlanta Constitution and The Miami Herald (print and online features) and she is a frequent contributor to numerous local and national design articles and features. Her projects have been featured on HGTV’s “Restoring America”. Dana Tydings has been labeled by the editor of a leading interior design publication as “a designer to keep your eye on…”
