ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Page Palmer, ASID Allied, opened her own design firm in 2006 after working for HouseWorks Interiors and The Second Yard for over sixteen years. Prior to that hand's on experience, Page attended the Mount Vernon School of Interior Design for four years. She loves color and fabric and tries to coordinate them throughout a project. After having worked on over 20 children's rooms in DC, MD and VA, she is thrilled with the opportunity to do Jill's Bedroom in this year's DC Design House. (She also did the Guest Bedroom in the 2008 DC Design House.)
Jill's Bedroom was created for a girl eight to eighteen. Because Jill is sophisticated, so is her room. Inspiration for the triple arched headboard came from the stepped stone pediment in front of this Beaux-Arts home. Jill loves color, texture and shiny surfaces, especially her acrylic desk at the window. She also likes to read and text from her comfy chair with lambs wool pillow. Jill has her own style: clean and sleek and now, but with a nod to the past. It's classical and timeless, and so is she.
