ABOUT THE DESIGNER
"A good designer comes to the drawing board with a professional eye, a fresh perspecitive, knowledge of the possibilities, and a sense of humor."
Award winning journalist and former Home and Fashion Contributing Editor for Washington Magazine, Marjory Segal has successfully combined the art of fashion with world of interiors. Reporting on the design world, and then working in the field for over 20 years, Segal's signature rooms, emphasize a classic---not trendy approach, and are defined by antiques, fine art, moderne furniture, and beautiful fabrics. "A home must be reflective of its owners. Comfort and functionality are priorities. Understanding good architecture, color principles, how fabric perform, and a client's request-- how they want to live today--are a must."
Inspiration often comes from nature, travel, and the client's themselves. Success comes from constant recognition and room designs being featured in The Washington Post Newspaper--Home Section and Sunday Magazine, The Washingtonian Magazine and well as national shelter publications.
Traditional Home Magazine, Southern Accents Magazine, Renovation Style Magazine, House Beautiful and Better Homes and Gardens Magazines.
Segal's room designs have also been featured on HGTV.
A native of Washington, DC, a graduate of the University Of Maryland with a Bachelor's Of Science Degree, Segal's career path, from fashion to journalism, to design has spanned 40 years.
"I love to to work with clients that are direct, know what they want, and have a sense of humor. I adore challenges and love creating beautiful interiors for fascinating individuals."
