Georgetown House Tour

The Georgetown House Tour, to benefit the ministries of St. John's Episcopal Church, will take place Saturday, April 25th, 2009. This year's tour will feature eight to ten of Georgetown's most beautiful homes and their impressive gardens. Tour houses and gardens will be open from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Houses are arranged for easy walking at your own pace taken in the order you prefer. A map of the houses will make it possible to set your own route. Following the long-standing tradition, the tour includes a bountiful afternoon tea in the Parish Hall of historic St. John's Church at 3240 O Street, N.W. Tea, featuring homemade tea sandwiches and sweets, will be served from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and it is included in the ticket.
GBID’s French Market Days

On Friday, April 24th and Saturday, April 25th, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Georgetown’s annual French Market, a Georgetown Business Improvement District (BID) shopping extravaganza, converts Book Hill of Georgetown into an open-air European market with items from antique home furnishings to designer clothing discounted up to seventy-percent. The boutiques of Book Hill include more than 30 locally-owned salons, art galleries, antique shops, cafes, and specialty clothing stores. The area enhances the Washington, D.C. retail environment with unique merchandise and is a shopping hub for interior designers and antique collectors as well as stylists and fashion-forward shoppers. The Book Hill of Georgetown is located on Wisconsin Avenue, N.W., between P Street and Reservoir Road.
